Food Train Friends - Volunteers Needed Our befriending service in our Annandale & Eskdale area is expanding due to the continued demand for the service. We currently need to increase our volunteer numbers in order to meet this increased demand - if you or someone you know would like to join our team of befrienders please contact our Service Manager, Scott McGill on 01387 265111 or e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. The role of befriender is very rewarding and great fun, you will be involved with lots of different activities that we organise with our service users and/or you could perhaps make one-to-one home visits. Training will be provided and all out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
New Look - Same Great Service You may have noticed that Food Train vans across the region have been updated with our new logo. Pictured below are some of our vounteers from across the region with their new look delivery vans. Customers and volunteers are delighted with the new bright appearance of the vans which were all updated by Elite Display in Dumfries. Helen McAnespie, Regional Manager for Dumfries and Galloway Food Train said "We are delighted with the new signwriting on our vans. Food Train continues to grow across the region and if you are over 65 and need help with your shopping or know someone who might need help please contact your local Food Train office".
Food Train Friends - Minibus Drivers NeededOur befriending service in our Annandale & Eskdale branch are in need of volunteer drivers. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Pupils at Wallace Hall Academy in Thornhill and Maxwelltown High School in Dumfries recently held non-uniform days in aid of Food Train. A fantastic sum of over £600 was raised between the two schools. Food Train would like to thank all school staff and pupils who took part and pictured below are Food Train staff and volunteers receiving cheques from the school representatives.
